Warm lobster rolls are reason enough to celebrate summer. Even the words are delicious. Say it aloud ‘warm lobster roll.’ It’s like putting warm socks on straight from the dryer, only more delicious and buttery. If you haven’t had lobster, or are aphrensive, start with a lobster roll. It’s everything that’s great about lobster (well, other than the ritual dissection) without the fuss, mess or boiling.
Although lobster is always on the menu at those wine and steak joints, the best lobster rolls are found at little seafood shacks that always seem to have hot dogs, deep fried oysters and fish and chips. Take the lobster.
Keep it simple:
- lobster meat (boiled lobster, shelled)
- hot dog roll
- melted butter
- lemon slices
Drizzle a little butter on the roll, squeeze the lemon for a few drops of balance and take a bite. Although it’s soft and warm, resist the temptation to put it all in your mouth at once…
