Chicken Planet! Even the name makes me smile. What could be a better description for what hungry people want: an entire planet of chickens, just waiting to be eaten! Yum. The perfect, direct and hyperbol-ized name aside, Chicken Planet is amazing. Right when you walk in you know they mean business. There’s not much in the restaurant (it’s a little dumpy) but a few tables, a spartan counter top and most importantly: rows and rows of roasted chickens. That’s right, lots and lots of deliciously seasoned roasted chickens waiting for you to eat them. Focus means quality and these guys got it in spades.
I’ve been here many times and always enjoyed the chicken platters, but one day I realized, my god, THEY HAVE SANDWICHES. YES. Score one for sandwiches everywhere. Of course, the sandwich is roasted chicken. It comes on a little bed of lettuce, tomatoes and onions, wrapped in the same warm toasted pita’s that you get with the chicken platters. It is delicious. It is fast (5 minutes). It is cheap ($6.75).
