[ed: I'm more than happy to announce that Martha is officially a Simply Sandwiches regional correspondent! She is going to take the sandwich scene by STORM, get ready!]
Howdy! You may have noticed a new name around Simply Sandwiches. I’m Martha, and I’ll be covering the drool-worthy sandwiches of New York City and beyond, and concocting a few of my own. I grew up in Texas and was raised on chopped beef BBQ sandwiches, which I gave up for the variety that NYC has to offer.
I live in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, where I have access to the best Mexican tortas and cemitas this city has to offer, as well as some of the best banh mi. It’s sandwich heaven down here, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be traveling far and wide to scout out new ‘wiches. I’m a big believer in the power of bacon, but also in the power of vegetables, and I’ll eat just about anything (except roasted red peppers. Don’t know why, I just can’t stand ‘em).
Know of an amazing sandwich you think I should track down and review? Send it my way at martha@simplysandwiches.net, and I’ll cover it.

Hey Martha! Glad to see your posts here on SS. What area of Texas were you at before? I’m in Austin; just haven’t gotten around the whole place to find the best sandwich spots yet. It’s a work in progress.
Hey Jake! I grew up in Dallas, which is much less fun than Austin but still has some respectable BBQ. This list (http://www.texasmonthly.com/magazine/bbq) might help you get started on finding good sandwiches, as long as you like brisket. Mmmm, brisket. I’ll be traveling down there in June so I’ll be able to review a couple of sandwiches from the Austin vicinity.
