Two at 2nd: Tongue & Pastrami

One lucky day last week I had a sandwich epiphany: I was working within walking distance to the new 2nd Ave Deli! “Holy crap,” I thought, I need to sample those tasty sandwiches. After a minute or two of convincing (usually the mere mention of sandwiches is motivation enough), my colleague was pumped to get [...]

Pulled from Magic Pigs in the Sky

This post is not like the others. The pulled pork from Blue Ribbon Barbecue is so tasty and simple that I’m not sure what to say about it. It’s a little sweet, extremely soft and is served between two fluffy buns. It’s delicious. It melts in your mouth. It’s never stringy or too chewy [...]

See Past the Grease, Through to Tasty Philly

Hot Sausages, not Boring Hot Dogs

Skip those disgusting pureed hot dogs and grab a delicious hot sausage. They’re just as easy to make and taste millions, no, billions of times better. One day, I’m going to get rich pushing a grilled sausage cart around they city!
They’re that easy:

Hot Italian Sausages, from a local butcher
Onions marinated
Soft hot dog roll
Deli [...]

Better than Brooklyn

Here’s a classic sandwich masterfully prepared. Notice the little bit of russian dressing leaking through the bread. This one is delicious but must be eaten quickly or it can get soggy. It also may require strategic hand placement so the delicious pastrami doesn’t fall out the back.
Ingredients:

Pastrami
Swiss cheese
Coleslaw
Russian dressing
Spicy mustard
Rye bread
